Our new family member

Sponge Bob is giving him a salute.
Meet the newest member of our family. Being in our house at just over a week, it’s the longest we’ve had a pet. (The first two fish met their untimely demise within the first several days – one by natural causes and the other by me, accidently.) His name is (as of now) Lightning, formerly known as Clover, Spots, and There’s-no-reason-we-need-to-agree-on-a-name-just-call-him-whatever-you-want-now-stop-fighting. It was changed to "Lightning" and agreed upon by all when they saw him grab his food. (See? He's already one of us.)
The biggest hurdle (and the one that ended the other fish's life) is over -- getting him settled into his new home safe and sound. Honestly, fish gross me out, but with the kid's support, I transferred him in and out.

The kids were trying to think of a middle name and I suggested McKing - get it? Lightning McQueen. Hahahahaha

  1. Well, it's good that they got creative. Lainey likes to name kitties "Kitty" and babies "Baby" so I can guess what name she would have come up with.

  2. Evan would have called him "Kevin" because everything should be named Kevin. I like the name "call him whatever you want but just quit arguing about it...lol

  3. You've been posting! Thank you entertaining with all your cool stuff. I love it all!! Our last betta fish was named "Gumball". He/she/it lived for several years. Now we've got two aquautic frogs (re-gifted to the kids by my sister)named .."PeeWee & Herman." I'm obsessed on making sure they are STILL in the tank at all times...they are gross looking little buggers, yet slightly cute...if that makes sense. :)
